JANDI'S: Professional Technology and Innovation for a Green Future
Facing the increasing problem of plastic pollution, various countries have introduced numerous plastic reduction policies and regulations in response to the growing problem of plastic pollution. In 2018, Taiwan implemented a plastic restriction policy aiming to reduce the use of single-use plastic items, including plastic straws, beverage cups, plastic shopping bags, and disposable tableware, with the goal of a complete ban by 2030. Many countries have already started banning plastic bags.
As governments worldwide enforce plastic reduction policies, companies associated with plastic products face unprecedented challenges. As a leading machinery manufacturer, JANDI'S understands the importance of sustainable operations in such an environment. In response to the global trend of reducing plastic, it is crucial to continuously enhance technology, ensuring that its manufacturing equipment meets the strictest environmental standards to tackle policy-driven challenges.
Environmental Innovation in Bag-Making Equipment and Material Breakthroughs
JANDI'S JIT bag-making equipment integrates a system for blowing film, printing, bag-making, and recycling. For recycling, JIT can achieve recycling by sending leftover materials from making vest bags back to the extruder to mix with new materials, significantly reducing waste during production. Additionally, JIT features a human-machine interface that can connect to the internet to monitor the current production status, allowing operators to respond swiftly to production challenges and changing demands.
The birth of JIT symbolizes JANDI'S breakthrough in the environmental field. The materials are environmentally friendly, using biodegradable and water-soluble raw materials to reduce environmental impact and truly be eco-friendly.
JANDI'S Environmental Alliance with AVANI ECO
Since partnering with AVANI ECO in 2019, JANDI'S has made significant progress in the field of sustainable development. AVANI ECO focuses on researching and developing materials that can replace plastic, such as corn starch, sugarcane, and cassava starch. These materials not only replace traditional plastic but also have a smaller environmental impact. The cassava bag, for example, looks no different from regular plastic bags but decomposes in hot water within three minutes and is drinkable. It can biodegrade in about 180 days, posing no threat to wildlife and greatly reducing environmental burden. This demonstrates JANDI'S and AVANI ECO's shared mission and innovation spirit in environmental sustainability, truly achieving ESG environmental sustainability.
Continuous Innovation of the JIT System
Besides changing raw materials, JANDI'S continues to innovate and strengthen the JIT system, integrating automation for blowing film, printing, bag-making, die-cutting, and recycling. This not only improves bag quality and precision but also allows production of over 25,000 bags per hour, with a monthly output of over 120 tons, applicable for HD/LDPE and eco-friendly materials. This high efficiency requires only three operators to manage four machines simultaneously, significantly reducing labor costs while greatly enhancing production capacity. Currently, JANDI'S holds over 30 patents and is applying for several more.
Advantages of the Automatic Carton Packaging System
The newly added automatic carton packaging system in JIT combines carton unpacking machines, conveyor systems, filling systems, label printers, and automatic sealing machines, saving space, materials, labor, and electricity consumption, reducing carbon emissions by 10-15%. While improving production efficiency, it also lowers carbon emissions, achieving cost reduction and environmental sustainability.
Facing the Challenges of Plastic Reduction Policies: Brand Reshaping and Commitment to Sustainability
On Earth Day 2024, the United Nations focused on plastic reduction, planning to promote the "Global Plastics Treaty" by the end of the year and publish the "Global Plastics Outlook: Policy Scenarios to 2060," aiming to reduce plastic production by 60% by 2040.
As a company actively pursuing sustainable development, JANDI'S began a brand reshaping project in 2018 in line with the sustainability trend, incorporating sustainability into every aspect of the business. This is reflected not only in product innovation and technological advancements but also in corporate culture and values. By adding the "leaf" element to its logo, they showcase their responsibility and commitment to the Earth's environment. As General Manager Mr. Huang said, "JANDI'S machine, user’s life," JANDI'S will continue to improve, becoming a leader and model in Taiwan's blown film and bag-making industry.
