FU CHUN SHIN
Interviewee:Benjamin Lee
Position:Vice general manager
Company Type:Taiwanese Manufacturer

FCS Vice general manager, Benjamin Lee, has participated many times at NPE, shared with us the development of FCS at NPE and the market demands of The United States. With injection molding machines, there is an equal market in the US for all-electric and hydraulic injection molding machines so there is space for both FCS and TOYO to advertise with Maruka at the same stand. US buyers take into careful consideration the specific demands and only purchase after understanding where the machine has came from and the needs of both parties involved.

David also asked, "Why does FCS not directly sell to buyers in the US but use an agent to enter into the market?"
People and local cultural thinking are key factors to this strategy.
Maruka and FCS have already been working with each other for 8 years. Before formal cooperation, Maruka took 3 years to observe the operations of FCS and to decide whether their products would be suitable to bring into the market. After long deliberation between both companies, Maruka decided to take on FCS as a supplier. Although Maruka is a Japanese company, the team involved in promoting to the US market are mostly local workers. So understand the local values and ambitions.
