The representatives of the plastics industry prepare the main event of the sector in Latin America, PLASTIMAGEN® MEXICO, which will take place from March 8 to 11, 2022 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City.

It will have the presence of more than 400 companies and more than 1,000 brands from 20 countries.

It will have an exhibition area of 34,000 square meters and highlights the presence of 13 international pavilions from Germany, Canada, the United States, France, and Italy, among other nations.

José Navarro, General Director of Tarsus México, the company organizing the meeting, assured that: “This is the first face-to-face meeting of the post-pandemic stage to promote business and the development of the plastics industry. It will be the maximum meeting of professionals from different sectors, with a first level offer, from machinery and equipment, raw materials, services and innovations for the transformation of plastics”.

Aldimir Torres, President of the National Association of Plastic Industries (ANIPAC), took stock of the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on different segments of the plastics industry: “The segments most affected were auto parts and plastic pipes, because the automotive and construction industries were classified as 'non-essential' activities for several months. In the pandemic, there was a reduction in the production volume of 91,000 tons and more than 7,300 million pieces of various materials, just in 2020”.

He added that the reduction in the production of polystyrene supplies, bottles, bags, films, and containers, in addition to the impact of the pandemic, were also affected by regulations on the consumption of single-use products.

This scenario makes the participation of the industry in PLASTIMAGEN® MEXICO important, to promote the growth of the sector. In addition, all biosafety measures will be in place to protect the health of visitors and exhibitors.

According to ANIPAC data, the plastics industry ranks as one of the most important sectors of the national economy and contributes 3% of the national GDP and 5% of the manufacturing GDP. And with the slogan "Greener than ever" PLASTIMAGEN® MEXICO reaffirms its commitment to the circular economy.

Plastic is a strategic ally for the automotive, aerospace, food, electrical and electronics, medical devices, agriculture, and construction sectors, among others.

Attendees will find the latest in bioplastics, transformation processes, thermoplastics, resins and compounds, synthetic foams and starting products. In addition, they will have access to the trends that mark the future of the plastics industry in raw materials, machinery, and equipment from more than 1,000 brands.

PLASTIMAGEN® MEXICO will also offer semi-finished products, packaging for molded parts, machinery, preparation, recycling, and extrusion equipment. Without a doubt, it is the best business exhibition dedicated to the plastics industry and will offer news, materials, products, business strategies and solutions for the industry.

Among the contents of interest, the following stand out: Advanced Technical Workshops, the Circular Economy Summit, technology talks and the PlastImagen Mexico 2022 Innovation Award.

There will also be an international conference program that will provide a vision of current trends in the industry, establish new links and professional relationships.
