New Two-Platen Machines Development by Two-Big Brands Collaboration

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Plastic Technology Co. Ltd. – Japanese injection press maker and Chen Hsong Holdings Ltd.- Hong Kong injection molding machine manufacturer have reached an agreement of jointly making large hydraulic machines, using Mitsubishi’s technology but manufacturing in one of Chen Hsong’s factories in China for cost saving.

On March 29, both companies put out separate statements, but declined to say how long the agreement will last. Here are some of their opinions for the cooperation:

“Plan to launch the first OEM machines within the next six months, and to expand the lineups of both OEM and licensed machines progressively.”—Mitsubishi

“Definitely enhance the group’s capability, both from technology and manufacturing technique perspectives, in the development of large-size two-platen type machines.”---Chen Hsong

As followings are some analyzing comments of this partner relationship:

1. Through collaboration with Chen Hsong, MHI-PT will produce its own brand MMX series in China, leveraging Chen Hsong’s outstanding production capability and local supply chain. This also Helps MHI-PT to deal with a strong yen and cost demands in emerging markets

2. Chen Hsong will own exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the two-platen hydraulic machines in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, with non-exclusive rights elsewhere.

PRM are really happy to know good news as like this mutual benefiting agreement,
contributing to plastic industry in many perspective. Look forward to hearing much more good news in the near future.
