At “Design x Innovation” 2017, for the first time BASF will showcase prototypes based on the winning entries from the “Design it. Live it. Love it.” design competition launched in 2016. The two prototypes demonstrate how advanced materials can inspire designers to innovate.
The bubble furniture, a combination of a lounge chair and bed, enveloped in an air inflated core structure and made with durable thermoplastic polyurethane Elastollan® by BASF, can withstand the rigors of daily wear and tear. BASF’s Haptex®, an innovative polyurethane solution for synthetic leather, is used as the upholstery material to provide excellent haptics.
Dumbbell-shaped exercise equipment can even be used for doing push-ups without the risk of damaging floors, as it is made with BASF’s Infinergy®, the world’s first expandable thermoplastic polyurethane, which possesses excellent resilience, tensile strength, and elasticity.

Onsite pop-up kiosks to showcase medical plastics products!

To help visitors to search for medical plastics products, two Medical Plastics Product Pop-up Kiosk will be established onsite at Zone A & B Pearl Promenade to showcase highlighted medical plastics products from our exhibitors. Well known exhibitors including ARBURG, Eastman Chemical, Renolit, JT MOLD, USI, Victor Machinery etc. will exhibit different kinds of medical product such as high heat and transparent medical polycarbonate products, biological pipette tips, catheters, medical device packaging, syringes, tubing, microplates, 3-way stop cock, medical masks and oxygen tubes will be displayed there.
