Exhibition Overview

This year’s Plastics and Rubber Indonesia 2018 has exhibitors from multiple different countries! Not only are there big exhibitors from China, Italy and Germany, there are also exhibitors from India, Italy, Korea and Singapore.

Most important of all there are around 60 exhibitors from Taiwan! Much like previous years, Taiwanese companies value the Indonesian market dearly. What is different this year is the rise of Turkish companies. Many Turkish companies are exhibiting their thermoforming machines this year. From this we can see Turkey’s new ambition in the Asian market for the Plastic and Rubber industry.

Visitor attendance this year is slightly affected by the coming presidential election and deflation of the Indonesian Rupiah. Many buyers seem to be strategizing for their long term future. They are observing not because of their uncertainty of the market, but instead they are looking forward to increased market strength after the election.

The government plans to have multiple advantages policy’s and laws that will increase the economic growth of the Indonesian market, so buyers seem to be achingly patient at the moment. Some buyers however, could not hold the itch and thus there are still many successful deals being made in this exhibition.

This year, the prevalence of Turkish buyers is definitely something new. We look forward to the rise of Turkish companies in the coming years.
