A Wide Assortment of Marketing Activities are on Display at K 2016!

A question that troubles all people involved in marketing is how to make your offerings stand out from the rest of the crowd? You could be selling the most useful, innovative and productive product in the market, but if no one knows about it then the opportunities to build your business will be lost. This year, 3259 exhibitors are at K 2016. Potential customers do not have the time to go to every stand and find out about each individual product, and that is why this year there is an array of marketing techniques on display. Any activity that a company decides to employ should reflect their brand image and company ethos, so that there is a coherent message behind the marketing. Then the company will be able to stand out and be remembered with a message that can be believed in. So what has caught the eye this year?

One of the most popular types of marketing this year is through the use of virtual reality (VR), it is difficult and expensive to transport all different types of equipment around the world, but through virtual reality, any number of products can be introduced in a smaller space. It also gives an opportunity to provide pitch perfect, pre-recorded company introductions, and even games that can be played increasing the interest further.

The most popular sport in the world is football, and Germany has one of the best teams in the world and pride in their national sport. While it might not be practical to actually play football in an exhibition, the game of table football is one that can be enjoyed by all. Even if you have never played before, you can support your favorite exhibitioner at the show! This gives people a bit of time to relax and talk, to get away and digest some of the information learned throughout the day.

Beautiful women have always been used in marketing but paired together with Husky dogs! Who can resist? It’s certainly taking the attention of the camera and is a talking point around the show.

Last time Witimann gave us a display of gold mechanical looking people to catch our attention, this time they have a scary looking long necked creature. It may not be to the taste of everyone, but it certainly gets people interested in their products.

Morph suits seem to be another running trend, with Witimann also employing this strategy, inviting people to take pictures with their man in white.

SPE went a step further with two people in morph suits dancing and performing, this proved to be so popular that the organizers decided to ban it for being disruptive to the fair show!

Finally, there are many free gifts on offer this year to entice the crowds, a friendly atmosphere and a warm greeting will always be a good way to get the crowds flocking to your booth.

Of course, there is no better way to market your product than actually get the crowds interested in your machine. Most people feel a bit detached to the machinery and think of it as just something in a factory, but Arburg has brought in a game changing way of marketing this year! How about a gift that is made in front of you using their machinery?!

Are you tired from all the walking around? Well if you visit Arburg, at a rate of one per minute their injection molding machine can produce a plastic foldable chair for you! Practical, durable and good looking this really has been drawing the crowds. But even more amazing is their other machine. They have people literally waiting for hours just to see a fully working watch made through injection molding right in front of their eyes! These special gifts might be costing the company quite a bit of money to make, but to show yourselves as the clear market leader and to be the number one company on display is priceless. For visitors to K 2016, this year has certainly seen automation taken to a new level.
