After IPF Japan 2014 - Exclusive Interview

After three years of long wait, IPF 2014, which is held in Makuhari Messe from 28th October to 1st November 2014, had finally come to an end on a high note. Besides the participation from those indicative Japanese manufacturers, such as Toshiba, JSW, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Nissei Plastic, Tokyo Machinery & Metal, more than 27 other countries had participated actively in this exhibition as well. These countries include Taiwan, United States, Korea, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, Spain and more. Mr. Katsuo Ito, the organizer of IPF expressed that with more manufacturers moving their factories overseas, it’s getting harder to further extent the scale of IPF. If they were to keep IPF in the leading position, announcement and insights on new technology and raw materials have to be made. Therefore in this exhibition, new models of machinery for vehicles and medical uses were showcased. Other than that, several technology presentations were announced. These had successfully attracted visits of many researching groups from overseas.


SHI PLASTICS MACHINERY (HK) LTD.

An exclusive interview was conducted with Mr. Tu, the vice president of Sumitomo Heavy Industries this year. As a well-known manufacturer for extruder internationally, Sumitomo has come to IPF with full preparation and composure. Sumitomo has awed the crowd with their latest technology which emphasize on low production cost and high efficiency. Sumitomo also highly stresses on R&D. Besides integrating on the function of their mobile and light-weight design of their vehicle productions, they have also raised more efficient procedures for processing. “Taiwanese buyers and exhibitors were rarely seen in IPF previously. This year, there is a large increase of up to 50%. We can see that there are more and more concern and expectation for our latest technology from the crowd.” Mr. Tu commented. 





ALTECH CO., LTD.

As the distributor of many well-known brands internationally, Altech has now been cooperating with Shini Plastics technology since this April. Altech has been committed to the machinery industry for over forty years. It mainly focuses on importing and selling of machinery products to the Japanese. The brands Altech owns include Shini, YE-I, ABTECH, Microcell, ALPS, Kautex, EXACT, Maillefer and Nuotong. It thus supports a wide range of products and this keeps Altech competitive in the market. “Japanese places great emphasis on trust when it comes to business. With Altech, Shini showcased several servo-control systems in IPF this time. Both are expecting new sparks and achievements from this cooperation.



THAI HYDRAULIC MACHINERY (1987) CO., LTD.

Having been established in Thailand for over twenty years, Thai Hydraulic Machinery, the well-known Taiwanese manufacturer for extruders, is now extending their markets to Japan. Having been exhibited in IPF for the third time, Thai Hydraulic has built up their reputation in Japan. Many buyers were witnessed to come forth for further inquiry and discussion during IPF. Mr. Chen, the general manager of Thai Hydraulic was highly confident of their after-sales services. Despite providing stand by and on-call services for 24 hours, Thai hydraulic is also looking for suitable partners in Japan to provide the best after-sales services possible. Mr. Chen also mentioned that Thai Hydraulic is prepared to further expand their scale with a four-times-bigger land bought in for further development. Thai Hydraulic’s rising achievement is expected to be witnessed in due course.



NITTO CO., LTD.

Having been established in Japan for about fifteen years, Tung-Yu in Japan, also known as Nitto Co., Ltd., has grown to be the largest manufacturer for vulcanizing machines in Japan. Being persistent on quality and integration of their machinery, Nitto has created an incredible sales result of 20% of Tung-Yu’s total sales. The rotocure that Nitto showcased this time is one of their epic products which had undergone several years of R&D. This rotocure can be applied to various arena and it is able to fulfill special specification of products with special quality and requirement. “Japan is a developed yet conservative country. So it will not be easy to expand your scales here. Instead, integration and development is our current aim” Mr. Furukawa Kou, the president of Nitto commented. Mr. Furukawa also mentioned that improvement in the quality of their after-sales services would be their top priority. Under Nitto’s continual effort, we believe Nitto will continue to glow in Japan’s market.



TAIWAN KINKI MACHINERY CO., LTD.

Exhibiting in IPF for the first time, Taiwan Kinki has awed the crowd with their showcasing of their new machinery- electrical injection machine. “Developed countries like Europe and Japan have comparatively higher labor costs. And with the rising consciousness in environmental issues, more electrical machines are needed by the factories with the function of being energy-saving.” Mr. Hsieh, the vice-president of Taiwan Kinki explained. The electrical machine showcased this time round, is able to collocate with various automatic auxiliary equipment to replace labor and save on production cost effectively. Having been focusing on the developing countries as their target markets, Taiwan Kinki is now extending their scope to the developed countries which required machinery with high precision and stringent quality. Mr. Hsieh shared with us that they have successfully come into cooperation with Japan’s Cannon and several injection machines are ordered. With their high sensitivity in this industry and their continual enrichment in their technology, we believe Taiwan Kinki will mark their spot in the international market.
